A new year is filled with expectations, promises, and resolutions to be better than what you were before. We are filled with motivation and inspiration and are ready to kick start this new adventure. Being a beauty junkie, I of course had to add some beauty resolutions to my list. It’s exciting to look back over the past few years and see your progression and know that this next year will also be full of progress.
Here are my 2015 Beauty Resolutions:
1. Wear more colored eye shadows. I admit that my warm browns and neutrals get the most love out of all of my eye shadow palettes. I want to add pops of color to my look more often this year.
2. Stop chipping my nail polish. I am the queen of peeling off my polish the day after I paint my nails. I think it is because once one of them had a chip in it, all of them have to! Nevertheless, I am really going to do my best to stop picking at them!
3. Wash my foundation brush daily. Washing my brushes once a week is an easy task for me. However, I recently read that if you are prone to breakouts, you really should be washing some of your brushes every day. I decided that I want to wash my foundation brush daily because that is what touches my face the most.
4. Up my cream highlighting and contouring game. Face sculpting has become huge over the last year. Especially with the release of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. Although using face powders can really make a different in your face structure, using both cream and powder products really take your contour to the next level.
5. Expand my false lash wardrobe. I am the type to find something I like and stick with it. I do like to try new products, however I will often go back to what I love. That being said, I am this way when it comes to false lashes. I very rarely pick up a new pair I have never tried before. This year, I am going to expand my horizon by trying new brands and styles.
6. Invest in more lip liners. Lip liners can make your lips appear fuller, larger, increase the staying power in your lipstick, and really add structure to your pout. I want to have a good variety of liners so that I can add fuller lips to my look no matter what lipstick I choose.
7. Be consistent with weekly face masks and exfoliating. I love me some face masks. But I can be rather inconsistent with the week or day I do it. I want to set aside a night a week to really deep clean my skin with my favorite mask. I also want make sure I am exfoliating my face with a scrub once a week as well.
8. Clean up my brows on the regular. Don’t even get my started on my brow game. Let’s just say it is a learning process! I am the girl who likes to get her brows threaded…. maybe every few months! I am such a slacker when it comes to brow upkeep. So I vow to clean them up on the regular. I mean seriously though, they do frame your whole face!
9. Apply hand cream and lip balm every night before bed. I normally apply lip balm when I am doing my makeup in the morning, but that is really it. Especially during these winter months, your skin gets very dry and chapped. This is not cute when it comes to makeup application. Also, dry hands are prone to age faster. So moisturizing will keep you young longer! I’m kick starting my anti-aging process!
10. Drink more water! Every doctor will tell you, DRINK MORE WATER! And there is a very good reason for that. Your skin will glow and it will be more youthful and hydrated. Plus, you will feel great!
