Oversized items used to terrify me. If you are on the shorter or more petite end of the spectrum, you know why this fear is rather rational. Larger items can either overwhelm a small frame or make you look larger than you really are. But then comes a clothing item that makes you reconsider all of your previous beliefs. And that is the palazzo pant. I wore a red pair around Christmas that you can see styled in this post. You guys went crazy over this trend, so I am bringing it back in with this mauve self tie style.
A simple win is when your weekend and work attire can morph into one! These pants are perfect for business causal wear, but can also transition into a fun and trendy weekend outfit when paired with the right top. But let’s get real. The best part is they are under $20!
Because the pants are an oversized item, I definitely recommend pairing it with a more fitted top to make the ensemble look more proportional. This particular top was not the most form fitting, so I just tucked it in to emphasize my waist. This can be a nice trick when trying to prevent a large item from overwhelming your frame.
I know that trying these types of pieces can be intimating, but the worst case scenario is you don’t love it and you move on. But darling, what if you adore it! You’ll never know if you don’t try!
