It’s no secret that I love all things glam. Hence the name of this blog. But the past few years, I have really fallen in love with the Golden Age of Hollywood. Binging on old movies is one of my favorite past times. I should have foreseen this future based off my AP English paper I wrote on the Golden Age. I am so inspired by the fashion of that time and how every day seemed like a celebration. They sure knew how to enjoy life back then! I also have started watching Mad Men for the first time (I know, I can’t believe it took me this long!). I am officially hooked. Needless to say, the show isn’t helping my retro fashion obsession. Speaking of good shows, I am also watching The Crown! Love that too!
Okay, let’s get back to the point. All this binge watching has me researching vintage styles. One piece in particular has made its way back to our modern time in 2018: the circle bag. Back then it was more of a hat box shape that was a little thicker in width. Now, it is one of the most coveted bags of the year. It has really started to pop up a lot more this past Spring and Summer and I am fully on board with this time traveling handbag style.
If you are looking for the top of top, Mansur Gavriel makes the most gorgeous styles. But unfortunately a lot of us cannot justify spending that much on a handbag. But the good news is that we can mimic the trend with variations of the designer with these great dupes! I am loving my Steve Madden Circle Bag in white!
