This fall season I am going to be kick starting a new series on the blog: The Trend Report. Throughout the coming weeks, consider me your one stop shop for all things fall fashion related. I will be your personal style forecaster for this coming fall season. The first report is all about suiting, check blazers specifically.
Forget your standard notions of suit wear being reserved for business men or the not so girly girls. Saville row fabrics are all the rage. But don’t stop at your typical neutrals like grey, navy, and black. Go against the grain by stopping outside your realm of comfort in a red or even a pink style. A check or plaid blazer can be taken with you to the office (pair it with a matching skirt or pant) and carried through to the weekend with jeans or even over a casual black dress.
If you really want to stand out, try mixing your check prints and colors. As I discussed in my How to Pull Off Power Clashing post, try to make one item have a larger scale print and the other item have smaller scale print. Play it safe by choosing items that have the same color scheme. Or be bold with a pop of color. As I always say, life is short. So take a fashion risk.
