I am so excited to finally be sharing some of my current favorite beauty items that are perfect for the upcoming season! It has been FOREVER since I have done a beauty post. And that is actually because until recently, I wasn’t buying makeup. Like at all! I had accumluated so much, and I wanted to use up as many products as I could before I bought some new goodies. But with some gift cards burning a hole through my pocket, I was finally able to pick up some new items!
Skin
My skin has done a 180 since being pregnant. I used to have combination oily skin with breakouts from time to time. Now, I have dry skin. On the positive side, I haven’t had many breakouts at all, which has been amazing. But dealing with super dry skin for the first time ever has been a challenge. I feel like it doesn’t matter what moisturizers I use, I still have tight skin. So, I went back to using my Rosehip Oil at the end of my skincare routine to increase hydration.
Because of my new dry skin, I went into Sephora asking for a primer. I was a tad surprised when the salesperson lead me to the skincare section. The man told me that this J.ONE Jelly Pack was technically considered a skincare item, but it was one of the best primers out there. He went on to tell me what seemed like miracle stories of this magic product, and I have to say that I am starting to believe them! This stuff is like superglue for your foundation. It is slight tacky, but your makeup looks fresh all day long!
Makeup
I had started to get the foundation itch again, but the trouble was I was totally stumped as to what to buy because my skin was so different now. Jaclyn Hill had been raving about this Dior Forever Foundation, and I had to try it. I will say it is an amazing foundation. One of the best I have tried; however, I think my skin is still too dry for it right now. But all my oily skin girls will love this!
I recently repurchased this Tarte Concealer and I don’t know why I ever let it go! It is hands down my favorite on the market. I had also used up my usual Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and wanted to pick up something new, so I picked up the Marc Jacobs Mega Bronzer. And let’s say it is not only huge, but also beautiful! You can use it on your body or face.
I also grabbed my first ever Charlotte Tilbury product while I was in L.A. The formula is really creamy and smooth, and is the best smelling lipstick ever! I am loving this nude shade in Bitch Perfect.
Body
We all know that we have to be careful of the sun. Sunless tanner is the best way to get that Summer glow without putting ourselves at risk or having to put in that pool time! I really like the coloring of this St. Tropez Tanner, and I find it to fade pretty nicely. I will say that you MUST wash it off after 8 hours. I have made the mistake of sleeping in it before rinsing and it didn’t turn out that great! You also need to exfoliate before application. If I am lazy and don’t do this, it will cling to those areas.
