We have all had those days or weeks where we think, “this week couldn’t get any worse.” Or maybe you are just stressed and overwhelmed with your many responsibilities and you feel like you need a break. As I am sure you have figured out, life isn’t always so accommodating, and often times we have to create a little excitement or joy when our situation says otherwise.
I really haven’t had that bad of a week or anything, but I have been sick with a bad cold. And that has been draining my energy along with, you know carrying a child. But yesterday I decided, that I could either go through this week sick and miserable, or I could make a few small changes that would make me happy.
I have quite a few ideas on how to make your week a little brighter, so I will try to keep each description short. I also wanted to note that I have already, or I am planning on doing these things this week as well. So I am not just giving you blind advice!
1. Dress Cute
You had to know this one was coming. Even if you aren’t looking that cute (AKA the sniffles, running nose, and tired eyes), you can at least dress in a cute outfit to make up for that lack of sleep or other beauty mishaps. If you like this off the shoulder top, you can find it HERE. It is from Tobi.com.
2. Plan Some Amazing Dinners
What puts us in a better mood than food? Sometimes some good ole comfort food can make us feel a sense of fulfillment. But I will say that I suggest eating healthy. You don’t want that guilt of eating a bad meal because that will just end up making you feel worse. Last night, I made spaghetti squash with lentils, vegan sausage, and a spicy sauce and it was satisfying and amazing!
3. Get Outside
Even if the weather is still a little chilly in your area, sit by a window or patio to get some fresh air and sunlight. Vitamin D really can make us feel happy. Maybe go for an after dinner stroll with your loved one!
4. Rearrange Your Furniture
Since I have been married, I have really wanted a little bistro set to put on our balcony to be able to sit have coffee, dinner, or get some work done. But it never really seemed like a priority, so I always talked myself out of buying one. Finally, I bought a little table and chairs set to put outside. I am currently writing this post in my new set up, and it has made me so happy! Pick a small area in your home to spruce up that is still in budget!
5. Play Uplifting Music
I love listening to the radio, but sometimes it just doesn’t cut in when you are wanting something inspiring or motivating. Find a new band or artist that inspires you and play it around your house or work place. I am a huge fan of Future of Forestry. We actually had our First Dance to one of their songs!
What are a few things you like to do to make your week a little brighter?
