I got sucked into the vortex that is Target over the past week. There is some unwritten rule that goes something like this, “When thou shalt enter Target, thou will pick up multiple items that one does not need, but one wants.” Seriously though! Who is with me? While spending way too much time in the land of red and white, I found myself trapped in the swim wear section. This is how my thought process went. 
“These suits are so cute! I really don’t NEED a new swim suit though. But, hey… maybe if I write a blog post on affordable beach wear, I can justify buying one of these suits!”

And there you have it. The real reason I decided it was okay to buy ANOTHER bathing suit. Anyway, Target has some pretty awesome on trend beach wear that is both adorable and budget friendly.

The key to sporting affordable beach wear is to know the trends. When I walked into the suit section, I didn’t just decide something was cute and get it. You gotta do your research lady! Or man! Here are a few tips when picking out your swim wear for this summer.

1.Fringe is Everything

Tassel this and tassel that! You are going to be seeing tassels everywhere this summer. So why not incorporate a little texture into your suit or beach bag while looking super on trend!

2. Go Pom Pom Crazy

Pom Poms on beach bags is the new cutest thing. I love that it brings an element of fun to your whole beach ensemble. I have also seen some pretty adorable sandals with pom poms that can totally transform your pool fashion as well.

3. Don’t Be Pattern Shy

Embrace pattern. From what I have seen on Instagram, patterned suits is a must do this summer. Forget solids! The crazier the pattern the better! I loved how in this beach look I combined a very busy bottom with a top that was solid black with a little colored texture.

4. Match Your Towel to Your Suit

This is bringing me back to my obsessive compulsive high school days on matching. But when you compliment your towel to your swim suit, it brings your photography game to the next level. Even if you aren’t into taking selfies, you will look super fabulous with your matching towel and bathing suit while laying on the beach to get some rays!
